Since February 2015, Global Communities and its partners are implementing the Improved Services for Vulnerable Populations Program, which is a five-year Cooperative Agreement. Known locally as USAID/Twiyubake, the program aims at improving the protection of vulnerable populations against adverse circumstances. It is designed to assist vulnerable groups to access health and social services that enable them to live productive lives. The Program will identify and assist 50,000 vulnerable households (250,000 children, youth & adults) in 12 administrative Districts.

 Business, Market & Finance Development Specialist:
Feed the Future Rwanda Sustainable Food, Agriculture, and Nutrition Activity
Global Communities is seeking a Business, Market & Finance Development Specialist for the anticipated USAID Feed the Future Rwanda Sustainable Food, Agriculture, and Nutrition Activity.  The objective of the program is to sustainably increase smallholder farmer incomes, improve the nutritional status of Rwandan women and children, and increase the resilience of the agriculture and food system to the changing climate
 Responsibilities:
The Business, Market & Finance Development Specialist will work to integrate the poor into market opportunities. Qualified candidates will also need to demonstrate familiarity with and commitment to addressing (gender) inclusive development and systems thinking including gender expertise.
Requirements:
Education: Master’s Degree or higher in business, economic, marketing, finance, or a closely related field.
Experience:
·         Five (5) years of progressively more responsible international work experience in developing business opportunities for the poor, in rural areas or as part of agricultural value chains.
·         Experience working directly to integrate the poor, particularly smallholder farmers, into market opportunities.
·         Experience and understanding of market facilitation approaches to increase productivity for smallholder’s farmers
·         Experience working on programs of similar size and scope, preferred.
·         Solid foundation in agribusiness, value chains, and market opportunities for the poor.
·         Excellent communication and writing skills.
