1. REGISTRAR, EAST AFRICAN COURT OF JUSTICE

GRADE : P5

ORGAN/INSTITUTION : East African Court of Justice

REPORTS TO : Judge President of the East African Court of Justice

DUTY STATION : East African Court of Justice, Arusha, Tanzania

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS 

Applicants should be holders of a Master’s degree in Law (LLM) from a recognized University and must be qualified to hold such a high Judicial Office in their respective EAC Partner States.

WORK EXPERIENCE :

Must be a qualified Lawyer registered to practice Law with a minimum of 15 years relevant experience, 8 of which should be at Senior level in a busy Court environment.

2. PRINCIPAL ENVIRONMENT & NATURAL RESOURCES OFFICE

DIRECTORATE : Directorate of Productive Sectors

REPORTS TO : The Director, Productive Sectors

DUTY STATION : EAC Headquarters-Arusha, Tanzania

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

i) A Master’s degree in Environmental Management or related field ;

ii) Specialized training in Natural Resources Management is desirable ;

iii) 10 years of experience with 5 years at senior level.

3. SENIOR RESEARCH OFFICER

GRADE : P2

ORGAN : East African Legislative Assembly

OFFICE : Office of the Clerk

DEPARTMENT : Research and Library Services

REPORTS TO : Clerk

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

A Masters Degree in Public Administration, Economics, Law, Social Sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized University. 8 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a similar position. Specialized training in Parliamentary procedures and knowledge of operations of a regional Parliament will be an added advantage.

4. ASSISTANT SERJEANT-AT-ARMS

GRADE : P1

ORGAN : East African Legislative Assembly

OFFICE : Office of the Clerk

DEPARTMENT : Sergeant- at -Arms

REPORTS TO : Sergeant-At-Arms

DUTY STATION : East Legislative Assembly, Arusha, Tanzania

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

A Degree in Social Sciences, Sociology, Criminology, Law, Security Management or related field.

3 years of experience as Assistant Serjeant-At-Arms or similar position ; or 5 years as a commissionaire/Senior Chamber attendant/Security assistant with security background ; or served in the forces at rank of inspector/Captain or equivalent rank with 5 years of experience. Knowledge of the dynamics and operations of Parliament is an added advantage.

5. ACCOUNTANT

GRADE : P1

DEPARTMENT/INSTITUTION : Legislative Assembly

REPORTS TO : The Clerk

DUTY STATION : East Legislative Assembly, Arusha, Tanzania

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting option), Business Administration (Financial Accounting) with at least 5 years experience in an accounting related field. Professional qualifications such as CPA or ACCA will be an added advantage.

REPORTS TO : Deputy Executive Secretary (Research)

ORGAN/INSTITUTION : East African Community Health Research Commission (EACHRC)

DUTY STATION : Bujumbura, Burundi

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

1. A Masters degree in Health Sciences ;

2. A post graduate qualification in clinical research will be an added advantage ;

3. Relevant working experience of at least ten (10) years in clinical research or related fields with five (5) of which must at senior level ;

4. Must have published at least two (2) articles in international peer review journals, with at least one (1) article as the first or lead author.
