News reaching online reveal that one supporter of
Presidential hopeful Dr. Col. Kizza Besigye has been shot by a police
officer at Forum for Democratic change party head quarters in

One of Besigye’s aide Shawn Mubiru, at the scene posted on Facebook a
photo of a man lying on ground with a caption “From spraying Teargas at
Dr. Kizza Besigye’s supporter at Najjanankumbi one has been shot he is
lying on the ground.
Doreen Nyanjura another supporter of Besigye at the party head
quarters also posted an update saying; “Dr KB’s supporter shot by police
at FDC head quarters!”
The party’s official Facebook page has also confirmed the news. “One Dr. Kizza Besigye has been shot by a Police Officer.” Besigye supporters at FDC offices.
Dr. Besigye who is vying for the presidency for the fourth
consecutive time is being nominated by his supporters in absentia since
he is outside the country. Police Speaks out
Kampala Metropolitan spokesperson Patrick onyango confirmed the shooting.
“Yes he was shot with a rubber bullet and we rushed him to the
hospital,” said Onyango adding that; “Officers have been sent to the
hospital to cross check the condition of the patient.”
